1. Program Description
Clackamas River Basin Council (“CRBC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an SMS text messaging program to communicate with supporters, volunteers, and the public regarding our conservation and community programs. By opting in to receive text messages from CRBC, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Messages sent through this program may include:
- Event reminders, announcements, and registration confirmations
- Donation campaigns, fundraising appeals, and giving opportunities
- Volunteer coordination, scheduling, and opportunity alerts
- Program updates and conservation news
2. How to Opt In
You may opt in to receive SMS messages from CRBC by:
- Providing your mobile phone number on our website, registration forms, or donation pages and consenting to receive text messages
- Verbally or in writing providing consent to a CRBC staff member or volunteer
By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder or have the account holder’s permission to opt in, and that you are 18 years of age or older.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency will vary based on your engagement with CRBC programs and upcoming events. You may receive up to 4-8 messages per month. We will not send unsolicited messages beyond what is reasonably required to support your participation in CRBC programs and activities.
4. Message and Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply. These charges are billed by and payable to your mobile service provider. CRBC does not charge a fee for SMS messages. Please contact your mobile carrier if you have questions about your messaging plan or applicable charges.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. How to Opt Out
You may cancel your participation in the CRBC SMS program at any time. To opt out:
- Reply STOP, QUIT, END, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any text message you receive from us
- Contact us directly at the contact information provided in Section 9 of this document
After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message. No further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.

For help or more information about the CRBC SMS program, reply HELP to any text message you receive from us, or contact us directly using the information in Section 9 below. You may also visit our website at https://clackamasriver.org for additional information.
7. Privacy and Data Use
CRBC respects your privacy. Information collected through this SMS program, including your mobile phone number and message interactions, is used solely to operate and improve our SMS communications and to support your participation in CRBC programs.
We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your information may be shared with our SMS service provider (e.g., Twilio) solely to facilitate message delivery. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

These Terms and Conditions apply specifically to CRBC’s SMS text messaging program and supplement any other terms governing your relationship with Clackamas River Basin Council.
