A Pledge Program for the Clackamas Watershed
We all need to work together to ensure the health of our watershed by using chemicals wisely and sparingly. Pesticides have been found in water samples collected from the Clackamas River and its tributaries.
If you are a resident of the Clackamas River Watershed, you can help prevent more pesticides from reaching the river by making a declaration to reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides on your yard and property! As a resident in the Clackamas Watershed that cares about protecting water quality for people, fish, wildlife, drinking water and pets — here’s your chance to take the Parting with Pesticides Pledge!

Pesticide Numbers
According to the National Coalition for Pesticide Free Lawns, of the 30 commonly detected lawn pesticides in the US:
- 17 are detected in groundwater
- 23 have the ability to leach into drinking water sources
- 24 are toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms vital to our ecosystem
- 11 are toxic to bees
- and 16 are toxic to birds
