The Rock Creek Partnership
CRBC is excited to announce a new program with partners Friends of Trees and SOLV!
The Rock Creek partnership is a group of community-based land stewardship organizations working together to enhance water quality in the Rock Creek basin. We offer FREE restoration services to landowners in Clackamas County’s Rock Creek basin. These services include:
Invasive weed control
Native tree and shrub planting
Monitoring and maintenance activities
If Rock Creek or one of its tributaries runs through your property, we would love to work with you. We will start with an assessment of the current condition and restoration potential of your streamside property and then propose a schedule of restoration activities. With your approval, we will begin our work which will culminate with a community planting. We will also perform maintenance activities and conduct monitoring along your newly planted stream banks for two years to ensure that the newly planted trees and shrubs have a high chance of survival.
CRBC has worked in the Rock Creek watershed for a number of years using funding from the Bureau of Land Management, Clackamas County Water Environment Services, Clackamas River Water Providers, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board. Projects have included riparian restoration work with private landowners, water quality monitoring and insect sampling with Portland State University capstone students, water quality monitoring for pesticides, pesticide use reduction consultations, and work with local schools and volunteers. We are excited to continue our work and combine forces with partners Friends of Trees and SOLV through the Rock Creek Partnership, which is funded by Clackamas County Service District No. 1.
